Training and Communication
Improving the power of the people through Training and spreading the power of our message through communication
Through our training and communications program we want to share and expand the work we do with our partner communities.
We want to tell the stories of the positive changes that our partner communities achieve, while maintaining their environment, traditions and culture.
This will help to inform the Papua New Guinea government and make them aware of how our partner communities are shaping their own sustainable future.
It will also lead to more communities becoming interested in following this path.
And it will start build a growing group of trained practitioners and facilitators that can go out and work with communities.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Increase the spread of our bottom up processes through the development of a training program and facility.
Increased visibility through the development of external communications so that people know and support what we do.
With this program we intend to bring about the following outcomes:
- Stories and training tools that tell positive messages about PNG customary conservation, way of life, tradition and culture are developed
- More community leaders and government staff are trained in ground up processes
- Community leaders come together to deepen their learning, build relationships and raise their voices
- Customary community conservation is championed
- People know about and support PNG communities’ customary conservation and livelihood development efforts
